Ferry Trip

Salt Spring has joined the league and our bye has been replaced with an away game! By all accounts the lads played well , scored some goals (pleasant change), had opportunities and offside calls galore! It`s not the amount of goals that count its how your finish your chances! Still lots of work required... Mario is planning a `finishing school`for the lads in 2009!

Lakehill players need to....

By all accounts the lads played very well against GHSA on Saturday but the finish was not there! Chins up and prepare for the coming weekend! We have a good feeling about the next game!

Next up: the yellows+blues...

Let's see if the Dragons can bounce back from their weekend drubbing by the league leaders...

Great Tuesday Practice!

Thanks to the Dragons and the Reds! The Tuesday night mixed practice was great! I know the Girls loved kickin' butt and the Guys wanted to outrun the girls! You are two skilled teams and the coaching staff will look for more opportunities to train you all together!

Next up ...the Guys prepare for their Saturday 11am home game against GHSA, while the Gold Girls are challenged to a full field game on Thursday by another Boys team....

...early on we had plenty of goal scoring chances! At this level of play and with the amount of skill on this team we just need to bury our opportunities!

Dragons drop points (again)

A frustrating result from a well played game.... a defensive lapse allowed our opponents to take two points from us! While unlucky we'll have to work hard in our next game to fire up the cylinders and regroup!

Black/White vs Red/White on the Hampton Turf

An unfortunate sequence of events that led to the equalizer for Gorge following a solid solid effort from the Dragons! What made the coaching staff especially happy was the fact that our team played well from the Goalie, the Defense and the Midfield!

Everyone deserves recognition especially Ian and Justin who received Marios 'players of the match' special mention!

Axion Jaxion? take a guess on the voting box.... UPDATE: we are told that Liam and Aaron are the top two so far, but after this weekend? maybe Axion Jaxion? Or Ian? or Justin? or.....

The Dragons kept pace at the top of the u13B Gold standings but the surprise of the weekend was that PSC can be beaten! JdF is also playing very well and challenging for the top so the Dragons have to stay sharp at this weeks Practices!

Dragons drop points...

The season is still very young but we just knew playing against Peninsula was going to be a challenge, it usually is when these two teams match up! So it was not a surprise when just a few days after we posted the MON quote (see Wednesday's posting) that just that would happen! The Dragons drop a point in the last few minutes of the game... time to focus on the upcoming practices and prepare for next Saturday!

Last time a Lakehill u12/u13 squad went to Europe they found the going tough..early reports received at Braefoot Soccer Central are that the lads managed an impressive 1-1 draw in their opening game. Other reports indicate an incredible training session in Milan and the mothers have all maxed out their spending limits ... we suspect Matteo has also purchased another pair of cleats to add to his collection! Stay tuned for details....

Off to Italy!
